Upstate winters don't play around. Between salt brine, sand, slush, and constant temperature swings, your vehicle takes more abuse from November to April than the rest of the year combined. Here's the exact prep checklist we run on every customer car before the snow flies.
Step 1 — Decontaminate the Paint
A proper iron remover and clay treatment pulls out embedded brake dust, rail dust, and industrial fallout. Skip this and you're sealing contaminants under your protection.
Step 2 — Light Polish
A one-step polish levels minor defects so the protection layer bonds to clean, smooth paint.
Step 3 — Apply Ceramic Coating or Sealant
This is the workhorse step. A real ceramic coating (or a quality 6-month sealant at minimum) gives salt and brine nothing to hold onto.
Step 4 — Wheels & Calipers
Wheels eat the most salt of any part of the car. We coat the face and the barrel of every wheel. Calipers get a high-temp ceramic too.
Step 5 — Undercarriage Rinse & Treatment
A thorough undercarriage flush followed by a corrosion inhibitor on bare metal areas slows the rust clock dramatically.
Step 6 — Interior Protection
- Fabric guard on cloth seats and carpets — slush stops staining
- Leather conditioner to prevent dry-cracking from cold heat cycles
- All-weather floor mats checked and re-fitted
Step 7 — Glass & Trim
Hydrophobic glass coating means snow and ice slide off instead of bonding. Trim restorer prevents the gray, chalky look from kicking in by February.
Booking up fast — we always sell out of pre-winter slots by mid-October. Reserve early.
